Sina's headquarters is located in the Zhongguancun Science Park in Beijing, completed in 2015 and occupied in 2016. Aedas designed a large office building for the Sina Group, which operates the widely popular Sina Weibo platform in China. Overall, the total above-ground construction area of this office complex is 76,500 square meters, and the total underground construction area is 48,000 square meters.
The design is based on sustainability and human-friendly living, reflecting the corporate philosophy of Sina as an international online media company, and it has also achieved LEED Platinum certification. The key starting point is to minimize solar heat absorption and maximize natural ventilation. The use of double-layer low-E glass minimizes energy consumption, while the carefully designed sunshades provide effective shading on the building's facade. Inside the building, there are approximately 55,000 square meters of open office space, various sizes of meeting spaces, exhibition areas, and employee service spaces that include entertainment, supermarkets, and recreational facilities.
