Chengdu is located in the eastern part of the western region of China, in the heart of the largest plain in the southwest - the Chengdu Plain. The terrain is flat, with a dense network of rivers, abundant resources, and a developed water system. It has been known since ancient times as the "Land of Abundance" and is one of the first batch of historical and cultural cities in the country as well as one of the best tourist cities in China. Chengdu has a history of over 3,000 years of city building. It was originally the land of the Shu Kingdom, and after the Qin Dynasty unified Ba and Shu, it was established as Shu County and built as a city. During the Han Dynasty, due to the development of the brocade industry, a special management office for brocade was set up, hence the name "Jin Guan Cheng" (City of Brocade).
